Many would argue that the conventional top down perspective and click to move mechanics of Diablo games have become outmoded, although many hardcore Diablo fans would probably disagree. Just like Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, WoW, etc, I expect that Blizzard is building this game so that it can be sustained for years as a "service" type experience. I feel that they're not simply creating an enhanced version of Diablo 3.they're going to move the franchise forward.īlizard will also want this game to succeed as a GaaS. And I think if Blizzard is investing the time and money into developing Diablo 4, that it's going to contain quite a few sweeping changes to the Diablo formula that allow it to succeed in the long term.
